A gold-ground, medium-sized six-panel byobu folding screen from the Showa period (ca. 1880), with a black lacquered wooden frame, silk border and gilt metal corner fittings, measuring 120.5 cm high by 276 cm wide and 1.5 cm deep, crafted from paper and wood with gold leaf, in good condition with minor losses to the gold and accompanied by the original certificate of authenticity issued by Mastromauro Japanese art gallery in Milan.
