Chinese blue and white porcelain cylindrical brush pot (bitong) of the Chongzhen period, circa 1650–1670, with a continuous naturalistic scene of birds among flowering branches and rocks, height 15.3 cm, diameter 8.4 cm, in excellent condition with a small firing flaw to the unglazed foot rim and minor interior water staining, provenance Bonhams Edinburgh. Condition: Excellent condition: barely used with minimal signs of wear.
